Building Transatlantic Energy Alliances in Times of Geopolitical Challenges - Foundation Office Washington, D.C.
Discussion
Details
The United States is in the unique situation of changing from depending on energy imports to becoming an energy export country in the near future. This will not only have effects on the international energy markets but will change the constellations of the international state system. The facets of this topic will be illuminated in a dialogue program in Washington and Boston. Professor Rudolf Dolzer, a German international law expert and a proven authority on energy issues, will discuss his point of view with representatives of the U.S. government, Congress and U.S. think tanks. Amongst other things, Professor Dolzer will talk with staffers of the Energy Committee of the House of Representatives about steps for the future of transatlantic understanding. The integration of energy issues in the planned transatlantic Free Trade Agreement TTIP will be part of the discussion.
