The future of NATO beyond the Chicago Summit

Dr. Karl-Heinz Kamp, NATO Defense College

Based on our shared values of democracy and free market principles, NATO has served as the cornerstone of transatlantic relations for the past fifty years.

More recently, the United States has apparently refocused her priorities toward Asia leading to questions about Europe's position in American strategic priorities. Moreover, budgetary pressures as a result of the financial crises are increasingly shaping policy making on both sides of the Atlantic.

To discuss these and other questions, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is organizing an event on the “The future of NATO beyond the Chicago Summit” with Dr. Karl-Heinz Kamp, director of the research division of the NATO Defense College and former head of the international security policy department at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
