The year 2015 offers many opportunities to strengthen the transatlantic dialogue. Together, the United States and EU member states are going to address a number of foreign and security policy issues, take the next steps in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations, and conduct and shape policy issues. To bring stakeholders together, KAS will organize a New Year’s reception. German Parliamentarian Steffen Kampeter will address the New Year’s reception guests, and discuss the transatlantic agenda for 2015 from a German perspective with the partners of KAS. Mr. Kampeter has been Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance since 2009. In terms of financial and economic policy, Mr. Kampeter is one of Chancellor Merkel’s most trusted advisors. The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) is co-organizing Mr. Kampeter’s three-day visit to the United States with the German Embassy, where he will meet with elected officials, policy experts and members of the business community.
