KAS USA, in partnership with Medill School of Journalism, presented a report on the impact of AI on local journalism, based on discussions with more than 25 international news and AI experts and a workshop held last November in Washington, D.C.

Two years after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022, the war in Europe rages on. The threat on European soil has sparked new investments in NATO through new accessions to the alliance and additional investments from existing members throughout Europe. While the Biden administration has remained adamant in its ongoing commitment to both Ukraine and the alliance, the United States has seen decreased support for NATO in conservative isolationist circles. As NATO prepares for its 75th Anniversary Summit in Washington, DC this summer, we hold a panel discussion on the future of the alliance.
Challenging the Global Rise of Antisemitism and Beyond

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Rüttgers, former Federal Minister and former Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Wojciech Soczewica, Director General of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, visited Washington, D.C., and New York City in February. They met influential political personalities and experts from think tanks, government, embassies, and multilateral organizations, such as the U.S. Department of State, European Parliament Liaison Office, the American German Institute and Hudson Institute, Pew Research Center, the United Nations, the Center for Jewish Civilization at Georgetown University, the American Jewish Committee and the Leo Baeck Institute, the American Council on Germany. Topics included the rise of global antisemitism, the U.S. policy agenda addressing this challenge, and the role of the UN.
