Toward Fast and Sustainable Growth of a People-Centered ASEAN Community
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam eagerly anticipates the inaugural ASEAN Future Forum 2024, scheduled to occur on April 23, 2024, in Ha Noi, Vietnam. The genesis of this Forum was unveiled by Prime Minister, H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, during the 43rd ASEAN Summit in September 2023. The Forum, under the theme “Toward fast and sustainable growth of a people-centered ASEAN Community” will discuss deliberations on the future of ASEAN in both practical and visionary ways in the context of fast, complex developments in the strategic landscapes of the region and the world. Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam is proud to lend its support to this groundbreaking initiative, which will draw the participation of esteemed government officials, policymakers, experts, practitioners, and pertinent stakeholders from ASEAN Member States. Additionally, the Forum will welcome ASEAN's external partners and allies, underscoring its inclusive and comprehensive approach. The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), in strategic collaboration with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Vietnam, assumes a pivotal role as the primary executor of this ASEAN Future Forum.

Roadmap to shorten the process and duration for annual state budget settlement
Workshop co-organized by KAS Vietnam and National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee
The Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly is in charge of assessing the Government’s draft report on shortening state budget settlement process. The workshop aims to collect opinions/comments of policy-makers, national experts, and representatives of relevant agencies on the issue of State budget settlement. The workshop input will help the committee to better make a verification report on the budget settlement process to present at the NA sessions.

The China Talk 23
The future of world order: a view from China
China Talk 23 aims to facilitate a robust exchange of ideas, insights, and perspectives on the theme “The future of world order: a view from China”. This is a continuation of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) China Talk series in collaboration with Konrad – Andenauer – Stiftung (KAS) in Vietnam, which has been bridging the fields of Chinese studies since 2015.

The Twelfth China Talk: Interpreting Chinese Perception of International Norms in the 21st Century
On 21. June 2019, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) in cooperation with KAS organises the twelfth conference of the China Talk series. This time, Prof. Shin Kawashima of the University of Tokyo will give his views on interpreting Chinese perceptions of international norms in a modern context. The discussion panel will be led by DAV lecturers: Dr. Do Thi Thuy and Dr. Dinh Thi Hien Luong.

Training Seminar "Criminal Liability of Legal Persons in Vietnamese Criminal Laws"
In cooperation with KAS, the Department of Criminal and Administrative Legislation of the Ministry of Justice organises a training on the 2015 Penal Code's provisions on the criminal liability of commercial legal persons and regulations on order and procedurce of investigation, prosecution, trial, criminal judgement execution, and the role of defense counsel in criminal cases which are related to commercial legal persons that commit a crime.

The 5th Ocean Dialogue: ASEAN Cooperation in the South China Sea
On 18. June 2019, KAS Vietnam and its partner, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), will host the fifth Ocean Dialogue. The event will consist of a thorough discussion between regional and international experts, but it will also give participants the opportunity to share their opinions and raise questions.

Seminar "Assessment of the Policy's impacts of the Policy's Impacts of the Legal Project on Amending and Supplementing Articles in the Law on Handling Administrative Violations"
The Department of Administrative Violation Handling Management and Law Enforcement Monitoring of the Ministry of Justice and KAS Vietnam host a seminar on the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations and related socio-economic impacts, shortcomings in implementaton, and an overall evaluation of the effectiveness in the process of implementation of legal regulations.

Workshop "Equality in accessing resources for Vietnamese enterprises: Lessons learned from international experiences"
On May 21, KAS Vietnam and the Institute of State and Law (ISL) of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences host an international workshop on the equality in accessing resources for businesses. While the workshop's first session will focus on various regional and international experiences, the second session will focus on lessons to be learnt for Vietnamese enterprises in accessing resources for development.

Symposium "Classification of power between local government levels in Vietnam"
On May 8, the Ministry of Home Affair's Institute for State Organizational Sciences (ISOS) in cooperation with KAS hosts a symposium on theoretical and practical issues regarding the determination and classification of authority between Vietnamese local government levels. The event also serves as a plattform for experts to give recommendations for local governance.
International conference "Cooperation and integration in the Baltic region and Southeast Asia: A comparative perspective"
On April 18, KAS Vietnam and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) host a conference on traditional and non-traditional security issues, challenges and opportunities for cooperation in the Baltic region in comparison to the situation in Southeast Asia. The analysis of these developments will show how these two regions can learn from each other's experiences.
Workshop
Students simulate ASEAN meeting on the future of regional integration
On 19-20 April KAS and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam host a simulation game for Hanoi students. The simulation invites 20 students to take on the role of an ASEAN member state to defend their national interests and collective objectives in the interest of ASEAN integration. Topics to be discussed and negotiated will be regarding a fictional context on labour mobility, maritime security and refugee crisis. Interested students can apply through the application form or send in a short video with their motivation. The application form will soon be uploaded.
Quarterly Report (I/2019)
Independent assessment of Vietnam's macroeconomic policies
On April 11, the Viet Nam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) in cooperation with KAS will present its research on Vietnam's macro-economy in the first quarter of 2019. The research will be commented on by famous Vietnamese economists and there will be a Q&A session for the press.
International workshop: "Vietnam in the UN Security Council: Strengthening partnership for sustainable peace"
On April 2nd, KAS in cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) organizes an international workshop to discuss the current situation of the UN Security Council, the relations of major countries and the role of non-permanent members of UNSC. The event also aims to support Vietnam in preparing for the upcoming election and activities at the UNSC.
