Political Communication and Women's Political Leadership

In Guinea, around 40 women strengthened their skills in leadership, political communication and mobilization to increase their influence.

Organized by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) in partnership with the "Cadre de Concertation des Filles et Femmes des Partis Politiques de Guinée" (CCFFPPG), this training brought together around 40 women engaged in political and public life. Over three days, participants strengthened their skills in leadership, political communication, public speaking, mobilization and campaign management. Through practical workshops and hands-on exercises, they developed concrete strategies to enhance their engagement and impact in support of more inclusive governance in Guinea.

National Meeting of PDWA Scholarship Holders and Alumni in Togo

In Lomé, PDWA scholarship holders and alumni gathered for the second edition of their “Génération Citoyenne” initiative on the theme “Youth Engagement in the Digital Age”.

The national coordination of the Alumni Network of the Regional Programme "Political Dialogue West " (PDWA) in Togo held its semi-annual meeting with around 35 participants. Young leaders, students and committed civil society actors discussed the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of digital technologies for citizenship and participation in public debate.

National Meeting of PDWA Scholarship holders and Alumni in Guinea

Gathered in Conakry, PDWA scholars and alumni discussed the role of youth in political dialogue, peacebuilding and national cohesion in Guinea.

On 1 August 2026 in Conakry, scholarship holders and alumni of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s (KAS) Regional Programme “Political Dialogue West Africa” (PDWA) held their national meeting under the theme “Youth Contributions to Political Dialogue and National Cohesion in Guinea.” The event provided an opportunity to reflect on ways to strengthen youth participation in political processes, promote intergenerational dialogue and develop initiatives supporting peace, national unity and democratic governance.

Closing Workshop of the Youth Civic Education Programme in Bouaké

After six months of training and mentoring, young leaders consolidated their skills and presented civic initiatives developed throughout the programme.

From 7 to 9 July 2026, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) organised the closing workshop of its Youth Civic Education Programme in Bouaké. During the six-month training program, participants strengthened their skills in advocacy, leadership, governance and civic participation. The workshop also provided an opportunity to showcase initiatives developed by the young leaders for their communities and to reflect on their long-term sustainability.

National Meeting of PDWA scholarship holders and alumni in Côte d’Ivoire

In Abidjan, PDWA scholarship holders and alumni discussed the political inclusion of young people in Côte d’Ivoire and developed recommendations for youth organizations.

The Ivorian PDWA Alumni Network dedicated its 2026 national meeting to the issue of youth political inclusion. Bringing together scholarship holders, alumni and representatives of youth organizations, the workshop identified barriers to youth political engagement and proposed actions to strengthen young people’s representation in decision-making bodies.

On 26 and 27 June 2026, members of the House of Representatives of Liberia participated in a high-level workshop in Monrovia dedicated to key aspects of parliamentary work.

The Regional Programme “Political Dialogue West Africa” organized a high-level workshop in Monrovia for members of the honorable House of Representatives of the Republic of Liberia to strengthen parliamentary capacities and enhance the quality of democratic governance.

9th Interreligious Dialogue Colloquium: Religion and Disinformation

Religious leaders, experts and institutional representatives from four West African countries discussed the challenges posed by disinformation in the digital age.

The 9th edition of the Interreligious Dialogue Colloquium explored the role of religious actors in countering disinformation and promoting social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.

Enforced Disappearances: Panel and Capacity-Building Workshop in Abidjan

On the occasion of the 139th session of the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, KAS co-organized two events in Abidjan.

Discussions focused on obstacles to accessing justice, the role of public institutions and civil society actors, as well as mechanisms for the prevention and reporting of enforced disappearances.
