For centuries, Central and Eastern Europe were seen as the playground of the European great powers. Here, their big armies clashed more than once. Today, most Central and Eastern European states have joined NATO. With rising world tension, how does this outlook shape the regional understanding of Germany and Russia and national security policy at-large?
