Den Dialog zwischen Kulturschaffenden und Bürgern fördern

Culture contributes to a sense of identity – it documents ways of life and its creative and innovative forces open up surprising and imaginative perspectives on the world. Therefore, the overriding tasks facing a foundation are the imparting of culture on the one hand and the fostering of culture, on the other.

The aim of the cultural initiative is a comprehensive cultural dialogue - culture wants to communicate. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung promotes dialogue between creative artists and citizens, between culture and politics and between the various cultural sectors. We hold this dialogue as part of exhibitions, readings, concerts, discussions, events, via publications or on the internet. It takes place nationwide in the regions and with a strong focus in the German capital.

To the Literature Prize of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

Literature Prize of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

Since 1993, the Literature Prize of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Weimar, which was established by the former Prime Minister of Thuringia, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Vogel, has been awarded once a year. The prize is awarded to authors who give their word to freedom. The literature prize is a special expression of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's self-image of orienting political action towards the fundamental values of freedom and peace, practising politics in openness and tolerance, and promoting talents of academic and public relevance.
