SUMMARY:KAS TEP session 2 Strengthens Civil Society Organisations.
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION:From 27–31 July 2026, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Namibia-Angola Office, through its Talent Empowerment Programme (TEP), will host a five-day capacity-building workshop aimed at strengthening the institutional effectiveness of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). Facilitated by Mariele Davel and Kenneth Rheent, the training will equip participants with practical knowledge and tools to enhance strategic planning, organisational performance, leadership, change management, monitoring and evaluation, and community resource mobilisation.

Throughout the workshop, participants will develop strategic intent by conducting organisational analyses using tools such as PESTEL, SWOT, CAF, and stakeholder mapping, while formulating high-level statements, organisational values, vision and mission. Sessions will also cover strategic objectives, logical framework approaches, performance indicators, operational planning, project management, and monitoring and evaluation systems.

The programme will further strengthen participants' leadership and team management skills through discussions on leadership styles, team development, organisational performance, and change management strategies to support sustainable institutional growth.

On the final day, participants will explore community resource mobilisation beyond financial resources, learning how to identify and leverage local assets, build strategic partnerships, and develop resource mobilisation plans. Interactive activities, including the Marshmallow Challenge, will reinforce the importance of innovation, teamwork, and making effective use of available community resources.

The workshop forms part of KAS TEP's ongoing commitment to empowering emerging leaders and strengthening civil society organisations with the skills, knowledge, and practical tools needed to promote good governance, democratic participation, and sustainable community development in Namibia.
