DetailsThis seminar, which is the second in the series for the North-Central zone in 2019, (the first seminar was in July 2019), aims at scaling up interventions and achievements by building on resolutions and action points arising from the earlier seminar which examined challenges and issues that hinder harmonious collaboration. This seminar equally aims at reviewing progress made so far, evaluating emerging issues that need to be worked on and assigning responsibilities for peace-building to all stakeholders with a view to further strengthen the synergy among security agencies and with civilian citizens in order to mitigate the ravaging conflicts and worsening insecurity in the three most affected states of Benue, Nasarawa, and Plateau.
Through these seminars, KAS is expanding platforms that promote political and social tolerance by evaluating sources / causes of conflict and developing workable roadmaps for the formation of peace teams in states and zones to promote sustainable trust, confidence, information sharing and coordinated surveillance among personnel of the various security agencies and the cooperation with civilian citizens to strengthen the partnerships.
The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
