The Regional Programme Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Tunisia Office of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung welcomed a delegation of CDU politicians in Tunisia. 

The delegation, which visited Tunis from May 7 to May 11, 2022, was led by Danny Freymark MdA, Deputy Chairman of the CDU Parliamentary Group in the Berlin House of Representatives. The aim of the visit was to offer the delegation a close insight into the recent economic developments and political challenges in North Africa, with a particular focus on Tunisia and Libya.

During the visit, the delegation held meetings with regional topic-matter experts to exchange opinions on the economic development of Tunisia as well as inflation and food security in the context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Furthermore, current political developments in Tunisia and neighboring Libya were discussed and the necessity for political stability in Europe´s southern neighborhood was emphasized.

This visit was an opportunity for the CDU delegation to learn about the current trends in both countries, in order to further develop the bilateral relations between Germany and the region.
