In acknowledgment of the importance of the environment to the African continent and to provide an opportunity for sharing information and discussions on critical environmental issues in Africa, the conference of the association of environmental Law Lecturers from African Universities (ASSELAU) in cooperation with the Climate Policy and Energy Security Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa (CLESAP)of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, UN Environment and the University of Douala (local partner), will cover national, regional and international law aspects on five (5) main substantive topics:
1- Climate Change and Energy
2- Natural Resource Governance (Biodiversity; Protected Areas; Soil; Minerals, Oil and Gas)
3- Land Use (Planning; Development and EIA)
4- Water (Governance; Management and Use)
5- Marine (Governance; Management and Use)
