The outcomes of the discussion at the UN Global Compact headquarters on 22 Nov. 2017 were positive, the discussion itself was highly constructive. Result: The Paris Agreement was just the start – by moving forward, faster, together, the private sector can support and enhance global climate action – especially in Africa. This was said to also lead to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect the planet. At the heart of “Agenda 2030” are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which clearly define the world we want — applying to all nations and leaving no one behind.
