As Cambodia entered the 21st century, its interntaional engagement with ASEAN’s wide‐ranging regionalism has become far more important. The ability of Cambodia to grasp the opportunity and address challenges arising from the realization of the ASEAN Community to benefit its people and contribute to the process of community‐building is now under national spotlight.

Participants will review the efforts made by Cambodia in implementing the three community blueprints and discuss Cambodia’s goals within the Community. The conference issues a set of concrete recommendations on how Cambodia could contribute to transform ASEAN into a stronger and cohesive association beyond 2015. A focus will lie on intra‐ASEAN cooperation regarding its three pillars: Political and security community, economic community and socio-cultural community.

Therfore KAS in cooperation with CICP (Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace) will bring together experts and government officials from various backgrounds for in-depth discussions.
