Details

The public lecture aims to discuss Australia's role in ASEAN. Against this backdrop CICP has invited Ms Jane Duke, Australian ambassador to ASEAN, to hold a presentation about Australia's priorities in its growing relationship with ASEAN. The presentation will be followed by a discussion.

ASEAN has been an integral part of Southeast Asia’s emergence as a region of stability and prosperity over the last 50 years. With a population of 620 million and a combined GDP of around US$2.5 trillion, ASEAN remains an increasingly important political, security, economic and cultural partner for Australia. Australia will host an ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Sydney in March 2018.
