Political dialog with Prime Minister Hun Sen on decentralization and commune elections

On February 20, 2007 Prof. Dr. Horst Posdorf, Member of the European Parliament, the German Ambassador Mr. Pius Fischer and the KAF country representative Mr. Wolfgang Meyer met with H.E. Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

On February 20, 2007 Mr. Prof. Dr. Horst Posdorf, Member of the European Parliament, the German Ambassador Mr. Pius Fischer and the KAF country representative Mr. Wolfgang Meyer met with H.E. Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia. At their meeting several topics were discussed; the commune election in April, the progress of the decentralization policy and the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. The commune election is a very important topic for the European Parliament, Mr. Posdorf emphasized. The stabilization of local democracy is strongly linked to the election, which has to be organized well and without any irregularities. Prof. Posdorf underlined the importance of development cooperation. In the light of the high economic growth rate of Cambodia Mr. Posdorf set a positive note for the development of Cambodia.
