Police Training on Witness Protection at the ECCC and Beyond

Thirty-one police officers from 6 regions will be trained on witness protection for the ECCC and Beyond. The goal is to educate police on international human rights standards for police and the rules of procedure and evidence adopted by the ECCC.

Topics include: the rules and procedures of the ECCC; the international legal standard for victim and witness protection; proper questioning techniques when working with individuals who have experienced trauma; and the theoretical and tactical requirements of a well-functioning witness support unit.
