Establishment and Operation of Community Radio
KAS-partner BFD helps local monks and lay people with the establishment and running of six community radio stations. This workshop predominantly provides consultation and financial management to the monks running the stations.

In cooperation of KAS, CIM and the Senate Secretariat, a training for the staff in the Cambodian Senate is held by Dr. Jörg Menzel. Topics dealt with include Human Rights, Women's and Childrens' Rights and Land Rights issues.

Journalist Contest - Journalists’ Dedication
KAS-partner CCJ and LWF launch a journalist contest to promote reporting on rural topics. A jury will rate the reports and the winners will be rewarded with a total of 1.500 US-Dollar. Entry deadline to hand in the reports is August 29, 2008.

Journalist from the US to Train Cambodian Journalists
KAS-partner CCJ and IJF organize a training course for 22 Cambodian journalists. The training aims to give participants techniques and skills in reporting and writing. Margaret Freaney, an experienced journalist from the US will hold the course.

126 Citizen Advisors who received training at KID are transferring their knowledge to their local communities by conducting legal education workshops and assisting interested parties lodge an ECCC Victim Information Form to the ECCC.

What could the national media in Cambodia contribute to rural development? CCJ invites media representatives to discuss this topic in collaboration with the Lutheran World Federation Cambodia and KAS in a panel discussion on June 6.

KAS, BfD and the youth organization of KDU organize serial workshops aiming at providing knowledge on D&D policy and practice of the Cambodian government to students of higher learning institutions and the BtB and SR provincial and district offices.
Event
European Film Festival
The DMC and the CCJ together with the EU will host an EU Film Festival. 11 films from different EU member states will be screened. Each film presentation will be followed by a discussion with a representative of the respective European country.
