Towards a Civil Society: The Role of Individuals and Communities is a special compilation of articles and papers that have been published or presented in conjunction with efforts directed towards nation-building. Whether the efforts have been individually inspired or institutionally organized, a consistent thread running through these works is the call for a more civil society.

The articles are categorized into three sections: Challenges to the Individual, Needs and Obligations of Society, and Some National, Regional and Global Concerns.
