The training manual is based on the academic publication "Women and Custom in Namibia. Cultural Practice versus Gender Equality". It captures the most essential aspects of the book and presents them in an easily understandable way. The main target group of the training manual are the trainers of "Women's Action for Development", a KAS partner in Namibia which implements programs on women empowerment.

Reaktionen auf die Bundestagswahl 2009

Selbst drei Tage nach den Bundestagswahlen gab es keinerlei offizielle Reaktion der Namibischen Regierung, der Regierungspartei SWAPO oder von Oppositionsparteien. Die staatliche Rundfunk- und Fernsehstation NBC übertrug im Rahmen der Nachrichten unmittelbar nach den Wahlen lediglich kurze Originalbeiträge der britischen BBC zu den Wahlen in Deutschland. Die größte englischsprachige sowie die einzige deutschsprachige Tageszeitung, The Namibian und die Allgemeine Zeitung berichteten in ausgewogener Weise über die Wahlergebnisse.

Survey on attitudes towards politics in Namibia

The KAS survey was conceptualized by the University of Zimbabwe Professor Eldred Masunungure and his Harare based "Mass Public Opinion Institute" and conducted by students from the University of Namibia. The focus of the survey was on young people and women. The participants were drawn from all geographic, ethnic, economic and educational backgrounds of Namibia.
