Details

The eyes of the international expert community on Refugees and Mixed Migration are focused on the adoption of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in Marrakesh this December. Even if most UN Member States sign the agreement, the main challenge starts with its implementation. The United Nations framework declaration on refugees and migrants adopted in 2016 have prompted the editors of Refugees and Migrants in Law and Policy – who have a background in international criminology – to invite 60 contributors from different countries to give their expertise on civic education aspects of the refugee and migrant crisis in the Global North and South. In this book presentation they will not only present their findings but relate them to objectives (16), (17) and (19) of the Global Compact for Migration:

(16) Empower migrants and societies to realize full inclusion and social cohesion;

(17) Eliminate all forms of discrimination and promote evidence-based public discourse to shape perceptions of migration;

(19) Create conditions for migrants and diasporas to fully contribute to sustainable development in all countries.
