Norway, Greenland, and Iceland in a changing world: Comparing foreign policy opinion polls

A KAS Online Seminar

During 2020 and 2021, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Nordic Countries Project has financed foreign policy opinion polls in Norway, Greenland, and Iceland in cooperation with, respectively, NUPI (the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs), Ilisimatusarfik (the University of Greenland), and the IIA (the Institute of International Affairs at the University of Iceland). The purpose of each opinion poll has been to ask the public in each country about their foreign policy preferences when it comes to their home countries’ international partnerships, trade, and security.

The March/April 2022 Helsinki Visit of the Foreign Policy Academy

In a KAS/Frivärld cooperation, a group of young Swedish-speaking experts and politicians visited the Finnish capital in the middle of the ongoing Finnish/Swedish NATO debate.

Between the 30th of March and the 2nd of April, KAS together with the Foreign Policy Academy (Utrikesakademin) of the Swedish foreign policy-oriented think tank The Stockholm Free World Forum (Frivärld) visited Helsinki, Finland.

The newly opened KAS Nordic office in Stockholm welcomed circa 100 guests to an opening ceremony in the magnificent Nationalmuseum in Stockholm. The participants emphasized the importance of continued dialogue between like-minded partners in the face of growing global challenges.

Changes in the Arctic Security Landscape

Expertenkonferenz zu sicherheitspolitischen Entwicklungen im Hohen Norden

In Zusammenarbeit mit Arctic Frontiers und der Universität Tromsø richtete das Regionalprojekt Nordische Länder der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung vom 28.-30. August 2018 seine erste Veranstaltung aus, die sich ausschließlich mit sicherheitspolitischen Entwicklungen in der Arktis beschäftigte. Über 20 Expertinnen und Experten aus Europa und Kanada kamen dabei im norwegischen Tromsø zusammen und diskutierten aktuelle und zukünftige Herausforderungen im sicherheitspolitischen Bereich, als auch Möglichkeiten, die Kooperation zwischen arktischen und nicht-arktischen Staaten zu stärken.

NATO and the Security Architecture in the Baltic Sea Region

Seminar über sicherheitspolitische Herausforderungen in der Ostseeregion

In Zusammenarbeit mit der konservativen Parlamentariergruppe des Nordischen Rates veranstaltete das Regionalprojekt Nordische Länder der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung am 24. April 2018 in der norwegischen Hauptstadt Oslo das Seminar „NATO and the Security Architecture in the Baltic Sea Region”. Dabei kamen Politikerinnen und Politiker sowie Expertinnen und Experten aus den nordischen Ländern, den baltischen Staaten und Deutschland im norwegischen Parlament (Storting) zusammen und diskutierten aktuelle und zukünftige sicherheitspolitische Herausforderungen im Ostseeraum.

What will Brexit mean for the Nordic Countries?

Seminar zur Erörterung der Auswirkungen des Brexit auf die Nordischen Länder

In Kooperation mit dem Norwegian Institute for International Affairs veranstaltete die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung ein Seminar in Oslo, welches sich mit den Herausforderungen und Folgen des Brexit für die Nordischen Länder befasste. Unter dem Titel "What will Brexit mean for the Nordic Countries?" erörterten die geladenen Experten Henrik Larsen und Björn Fägersten nicht nur die Zukunft der bilateralen Beziehungen der Nordischen Länder mit Großbritannien, sondern diskutierten auch die innenpolitischen Diskurse in Dänemark und Schweden hervorgerufen durch die politischen Veränderungen des Brexit.

Sicherheitskonferenz "Securing Northern Europe" in Stockholm

In Kooperation mit dem Atlantic Council richtete das Regionalprojekt Nordische Länder der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung am 12. Dezember 2017 in Stockholm eine Konferenz mit sicherheitspolitischem Fokus aus. Unter dem Titel „Securing Northern Europe – Bridging the Baltic Sea, North Atlantic and the Arctic” kamen rund 80 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer (darunter zahlreiche Botschaftsvertreter) im Königlichen Münzkabinett zusammen, um sicherheits- und verteidigungspolitische Herausforderungen zwischen der Ostsee und der Arktis zu diskutieren.

Gründerkompetenzen besser in Bildungssystem verankern

Bildungskonferenz "BildungsLab One" in Stockholm

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem International Institute for Sustainability Management der SRH-Hochschule Berlin veranstaltete die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung vom 26.-28. November 2017 eine zweitägige Expertenkonferenz in Stockholm, welche sich mit der Rolle und der Bedeutung von Gründerkompetenzen in den Bildungssystemen von Schweden und Deutschland beschäftigte. Es war die zweite Konferenz in der Veranstaltungsreihe „BildungsLab One“, welche 2015 mit einem Auftaktevent in Berlin ins Leben gerufen worden war.

Breakfast-Meeting in Oslo zur Bundestagswahl 2017

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem norwegischen Think Tank „Civita“ veranstaltete die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung drei Tage vor der Wahl zum Deutschen Bundestag in Oslo ein sogenanntes Breakfast-Meeting, bei dem im Rahmen einer Panel-Veranstaltung mit anschließender Diskussion unter dem Titel „Germany Decides 2017 – Will Angela Merkel continue as German Chancellor“ die aktuellen Fragen kurz vor der Bundestagswahl sowie mögliche Ergebnisse thematisiert wurden.
