As part of an official visit of several days through Israel and the Palestinian Autonomous Territories Prime Minister of Saxony Mr. Stanislaw Tillich, accompanied by regional representatives of politics, economy and press, visited the office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) Ramallah in order to inform himself about regional developments from the perspective of the Palestinian Autonomous Territories.

The Palestine Investment Conference 2010 in Bethlehem brought together a large number of investors, government representatives and international agencies. The goal of the conference is the establishment of a viable private sector and the foundation of Social Market Economy in the Palestinian Territories. The KAS Ramallah and the Institute of Law at Birzeit University, a long-term partner, share this goal and support the implementation of social and market based structures in the Territories.

Presenting the Second Report of the Media Monitoring Unit

MIFTAH at the Al-Quds University

On 27 May 2010, the Media Monitoring Unit of The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy – MIFTAH – presented the findings of its second report which was developed in the context of the project "Critical reading of Print Media". The presentation took place at the Academic Media Department of Al-Quds University which is the oldest of the three media departments to be found at Palestinian universities.

Groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding signed to upgrade legal database Al Muqtafi

Due to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Palestinian Chief Justice and Al Muqtafi, 22.000 legal documents will be integrated into the database. In addition, all new decisions by the Supreme Court will also be sent to Al Muqtafi.

Head of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Dr. Hans-Gert Pöttering MEP visits KAS offices in Jerusalem and Ramallah

It was one of the first journeys as the new head of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) that led Dr. Hans-Gert Pöttering MEP to the KAS offices in Jerusalem and Ramallah. His early visit symbolized the great importance Dr. Pöttering attaches to the work of the KAS in the region and especially to the cooperation of the two offices in Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
