As Marc Frings will be leaving Ramallah soon, it is time to say goodbye. He therefore met Dr. Abdullatif Abuhijleh, President of Birzeit University. They reflected on a truly unique strategic partnership, in particular the cooperation with the Institute of Law at Birzeit University and the Ibrahim Abu Lughod-Institute of International Studies. Throughout the years, dialogue programs in Germany, conferences and debates have been organized and helped strengthening Palestinian-German relations.

Marc also met with the Junior Palestinian Legal Experts (JPLE) to explore the grounds for potential future cooperation. He shared his experience on promoting the rule of law during his mandate in the Palestinian Territories. The JPLEs in turn talked about their idea of creating a network. They briefed us about their vision and mission, their participation at the national/ international level under the name of JPLE, informed about the challenges they are facing as young professionals and how important it is to conduct legal research in English.
