The Local Elections: Legal and Administrative Dimensions

On 12 November 2012, the Institute of Law (IoL) at Birzeit University organised in Gaza City a legal encounter on The Local Elections: Legal and Administrative Dimensions. Delivered by Advocate Amjad al Agha, Lecturer at the Islamic University of Gaza, the legal encounter brought together a large number of lawyers, representatives of human rights organisations, members of the legal community, and representatives of interested bodies.

Meeting with Members of the European Parliament and the German Bundestag

Seven Palestinian junior diplomats visited Brussels and Berlin following an invitation by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS). The visit, which was organised by the Domestic Programmes Team in cooperation with the foundation’s external offices in Ramallah and Brussels, provided the Palestinian diplomats with the opportunity to speak with Members of the European Parliament, such as the chairman of the KAS Hans-Gert Pöttering, MEP and with Members of the German Parliament.

Mentored by the country office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Ramallah, a group of young politicians of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) from Thuringia visited the Palestinian Territories to get on-site an idea of the current situation.

PPU-Hebron: Environmental Policies in the Palestinian Territories

On May 10, 2012 the Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) in Hebron hosted in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Ramallah a panel with the title “The Environmental Policies in Palestine”. The conference intended to reflect the current state of environmental protection in the Palestinian Territories and to show new development possibilities.
