In discussions with the Federal Chancellery

Within the framework of this dialogue forum on "Europe’s mandate in the MENA region," representatives from think tanks, media and politics discussed in particular Europe's role as a security actor and development partner in order to find answers to the question of how Europe can sharpen its profile in the region and strengthen its value-oriented commitment. The aim was to strengthen the strategic dialogue on the region in order to reach a broader agreement on the numerous conflicts and challenges in the region. Central points of the debate were the orientation of Franco-German policy strategies and the adaptation of a development cooperation to local needs and expectations.

Following the Dialogue Forum with the participation of members of the German Bundestag Johann Wadephul and Peter Stein as well as member of the Assemblée nationale Gwendal Rouillard, the French delegation of representatives from politics, the media and think tanks had bilateral meetings with the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Foreign Office and the Ministry of Defence.
