21st Asia - Europe Think Tank Dialogue - Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia
Seminar
Details
With the increase in connectivity strategies offered by different countries, the dialogue will take a closer look into the most relevant ones. Most of them have a distinct geographic focus on Asia and Europe, and will therefore impact the future relationship between the two regions. The dialogue will analyze and dissect the connectivity strategies offered by China, Japan, the European Union and how countries are positioning themselves in this regard. Besides exploring the concept and function of the strategies within the wider foreign policy, we also want to look at possible areas for cooperation and competition and the geopolitical impacts these might have. The Asia - Europe Think Tank Dialogue is organized annually since 1998 by the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the EU Centre in Singapore. The aim of this dialogue is to offer representatives of think tanks from Asia and Europe the opportunity for an exchange of ideas and insights into current issues of bi-regional and international relations. The dialogue forum also serves as a platform for enhancing cooperation among institutes from both continents and supports the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) on a track-2 level.
