Almost all European countries see an increase in the support for populist parties which feed on nationalism, identity politics, as well as anti-globalisation and anti-establishment sentiments. Consequently, many observers view this as an existential challenge to the cradle of democracy.In order to give a better understanding of the situation and how it might affect the European Elections in the upcoming year, we are bringing leading experts on this question to Singapore.

Prof. Dr. Torsten Oppelland, Dr. David Jeffrey, and Dr. Mikael Sundström, will reflect on contemporary changes in the domestic political cultures in Germany, UK, and Sweden and analyse causes, drivers, and impacts.
