The event will be a friendly reunion of the Asian alumni stipendiaries but also consists of a seminar on the recent developments in Constitutionalism in Asia and in Europe. After a speech on developments on a German and European level by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bröhmer, presentations on developments in Cambodia, China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam as well as general discussion will follow. The seminar will be moderated by Mr. Clauspeter Hill, Director of the KAS Rule of Law Programme Asia.

After the event, H.E. Jörg Ranau, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Singapore, will open the publishing of the Rule of Law Programme Asia’s new book, “60 Years German Basic Law: The German Constitution and its Court – Landmark Decisions of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany in the Area of Fundamental Rights”, a collection of significant decisions by the Bundesverfassungsgericht translated into English, some of them for the first time
