Based on the history and development of the European Union (EU), the conference seeked to explore  to what extent Asia can look to EU as a model. The  event also analysed the future of the EU and Asia based on the current challenges faced by both the regions. Experts such as Prof. Angelika Nussberger, Vice-president of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) , Judge Tim Eicke, ECHR and Federal Minister of Defence (ret.) Prof. Rupert Scholz participated in the event. Representatives from East and Southeast Asian countries participated in the event to share the perspectives of their respective countries.
