Speakers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka were invited to speak at the workshop.

The workshop focused on analyzing the comparative perspectives on migration and refugees in South Asia and the politics and practice of repatriation and re-settlement. Furthermore the workshop examined the migration dynamics in the region and beyond, including South Asian labor migration to the Gulf, and the framing of refugee protection in the context of humanitarian disasters.
