Training on improved access to justice for migrant workers - Rule of Law Programme Middle East and North Africa
Workshop
Details
In Lebanon and most of the Middle East, access to justice is rendered particularly difficult for migrant domestic workers who are excluded from the labour law and whose resident status is directly linked to their sponsor, i.e. employer of the domestic worker.
The overall objective of the training sessions will be to ensure improved protection and legal support to migrant domestic workers in Lebanon through increasing the ability of judges and lawyers to defend the rights of migrant domestic workers, strengthening the legal competencies of social workers to support them and building capacity to key workers’ organisations to strengthen their service towards migrant domestic workers.
