Workshop on "Performance Indicators and Evaluation of Judges in the Lebanese Judiciary – Part Two" - Rule of Law Programme Middle East and North Africa
Workshop
Details
The Judicial Superior Council (JSC) functions as an independent body that provides general oversight of the judiciary, including the approval of judicial appointments, monitoring the performances of courts and judges, carrying out disciplinary actions, as well as proposing reforms to the judiciary.
The workshop is the second seminar aiming at the establishment of an evaluation system of the performance of judges in Lebanon.
A previous two-day seminar has been organized in May 2014, during which the Lebanese judges and the regional Consultative councils gained a deeper knowledge of the German system of evaluation of the performance of judges.
On the upcoming event, Mr. Walter Horn, the vice president of the Munich local court, members of the JSC and the drafting commitee will review and improve draft evaluation questionnaires that have been elaborated by the committee after the 2014 event.
