Al Bashir and Complementarity - Foundation Office South Africa
Expert conference
Details
The meeting will discuss complementarity and particularly the obligations South Africa faces in the aftermath of the recent debacle when the South African government failed to arrest the Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir who was indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in 2009 for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide committed in Darfur. The conference will provide both a South African and a comparative perspective on Complementarity. The aim of the comparative component will be to discern lessons from other jurisdictions.
The event is by invitation only.
