Details

Prof. Thomas von Danwitz, currently at the European Court of Justice, and Justice Kate O'Reagan, Constitutional Court of South Africa, will discuss the crucial role of the Constitution in Consolidating Democracy. They will focus on the historical drafting processes and point out the Cornerstones of both, the South African and the German Constitution. Recent developments within the judiciary will be examined, followed by an open discussion. Dr. David Bilchitz, Director of the South African Institute for Advanced Constitutional, Public, Human Rights and International Law (SAIFAC) will moderate the evening.
