Details

This first provincial sensitization workshop in Zimbabwe had three main objectives. First was to introduce the EWoH2 project to traditional leaders as a specific and important target group, who wield enormous power in rural communities as gatekeepers of patriarchal traditions that often discriminate against women in land ownership and land tenure rights. Second, to introduce the project objectives, planned activities (and the involvement of traditional leaders), project beneficiary groups and collaborating partners. Third, to exchange preliminary views on the constitutional and statutory framework for the exercise of traditional authority with regard to communal/agricultural land, thereby get their confidence and support for the project.
