Details

KAS South Africa kindly informs about the open application process for the training programme on civilian peacebuilding capacity offered by the St Augustine College of South Africa. Participants will be enabled to contribute to conflict transformation and peace-building in a variety of contexts. The aim is thus to better understand the role of the civilian component of Peacebuilding Operations deployed by the United Nations and Regional Organizations (AU, ECOWAS, SADC etc.). The course emphasises the need for developing reflective and critical capacities of participants. Attention will be drawn to core values that inform and motivate peace-building activities (i.e. human dignity and common good) and providing the conceptual frameworks that guide critical reflection. The course also offers an opportunity to learn about human rights education and reporting techniques.
