This event forms part of collaborative research project between SAIFAC and Externado University in Bogota, Colombia, entitled ‘Transitional Justice and Distributive Justice: Comparative Lessons from Colombia and South Africa’.

The purpose of the event is to workshop draft papers on a range of topics under the broad themes of transitional justice, distributive justice and new constitutionalism that have been prepared by various researchers from both countries. Based on the feedback received at the conference and the quality of the work, it is envisaged that researchers will be given an opportunity to revise their pieces for publication in an edited collection of chapters on the themes of the project.
