Workshop on women’s rights based on (CEDAW) the Convention on Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women

Details

ACFODE is to conduct a workshop in the district of Kiboga for local leaders in gender and human rights based on CEDAW. The training will target Local Council Officials, Parish Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Religious leaders, Councilors (both male and female councillors, Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA’s), Teachers, health workers such as midwives and other civic leaders.

The objectives of the workshop include: to create community awareness about women’s rights under the Convention on Elimination of All forms of Discrimination against Women; to equip leaders with skills in advocating for women’s rights; and, to build the capacity of Communities through formation of CEDAW committees to advocate for women rights.
