The Law, Justice and Development Week 2019 by the World Bank takes place under the annual theme "Rights, Technology and Development". With focus on new technologies and how they pressure existing laws and legal institutions in developing countries. On this occasion, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung USA organizes a high-level, closed-shop event on Thursday, November 7th with senior judges and judicial officials from a number of countries such as Brazil, Nigeria, Mongolia and Thailand. Sandie Okoro, Senior Vice President and Group General Counsel of the World Bank, will open the evening´s discussion with her keynote speech.Another part of the week are the presentations of the development solutions by two law student contest winners from Haiti and Kenya who were supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and will present their ideas on a panel during the LJD Week 2019. Their solutions focus on the use of technology to facilitate the access to justice for people in their respective countries.
