In recent years, there have been dramatic changes in research approaches and methodology in social sciences. Using interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary methods in social sciences is recognized as inevitable trend as well as the application of quantitative methods. International relations as a discipline in social sciences does not go out of that trend. In order to adequately discuss these trends, KAS Vietnam and the USSH invited two research experts of the field: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Christina Schwenkel from the University of California and Dr. Michaela Boerner from Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany. The two experts will help the participants improve their quantitative methods in doing research, especially in investigating and assessing non-traditional security threats and human security issues.
