Thomas Helm, Resident Representative of the KAS to Kazakhstan, welcomed the participants and opened the seminar with an introductory presentation on «Trends in the field of thermal energy in Germany». Other speakers, in particular Olzhas Alibekov, Head of the Energy Saving and Energy efficiency Department of the Industrial Development and Industrial Safety Committee of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Almat Kabykenov, Direct or of the Center for Expertise, Management and Monitoring of Projects of JSC «Institute of Development of Electric Power Industry and Energy Saving», reported on the «Political framework for thermal energy and energy efficiency in Kazakhstan» and «The mechanisms for attracting investments in energy efficiency».

Yeldos Abakanov, Chairman of the Board of the Public Association «Public Chamber of Energy Efficiency and Resource Saving», held a speech on the topic of the Association. Galina Ishmukhametova, Trading Partner of «Scanroc» in Kazakhstan, presented the topic «Energy-efficient technologies - the first step towards an energy-efficient state».

Among the participants were representatives of the Government, research centers, NGOs and companies in the field of energy, construction and architecture. There was a lively discussion.
