Radio Seminar for Community Organizations

The radio seminar for community organizations was held from October 13 to December 1 on Radio Hogar. Retaking the radio as a training experience through the program "Justice and Peace in Action" allowed us to be close to approximately 50 leaders of different organizations that actively work to generate spaces for dialogue and consensus in their communities. It also allowed us to learn about the realities they live, as well as the challenges they face as organizations to generate a change in the individual and collective conscience of citizens.

The methodology used for the preparation of the modules and the booklet that will be sent to the participants was elaborated from the perspective of seeing, judging, acting and celebrating, these four steps allow us to follow a sequence of work with the organizations and from the challenges that we have as an ecclesial organization to provide accompaniment to the extent of our possibilities.

The specialist Alberto Agrazal prepared and moderated the following training topics:

Module# 1 "Citizen Participation".

Module# 2 "Community Organization".

Module # 3 "Types of Community Organizations".

Module # 4 "Organizational Aspects".

Module # 5 "Community Leadership

Module # 6 "Territorial Approach".

Module # 7 "Public Advocacy".

Each module allowed us to have a general context of the reality of the communities through the exchange of experiences by using the WhatsApp application to maintain communication with the workshop participants, learn about the work they are currently doing, listen to some of their concerns, offer them other sources of information, meet and through the Chat Forum establish a dialogue on the different aspects of community organizations.

Documentary on Local Development Boards

We begin the series of documentaries on Community Organizations with the one dedicated to the Local Development Boards, an organization that generates space for local and community participation within the Municipal Decentralization.

The collaborators of the documentary, with different experiences in the Local Development Boards, shared the legal basis and its scope, formation process and challenges in its dynamics and in the interaction with the different actors of decentralization.

The documentary was made by Guasimo Multimedia, it is being posted on the social networks of the Justice and Peace Commission. Facebook, Youtube, instagram.

Community Organization Training Booklet.

The booklet develops the contents of the Radio Seminar for Community Organizations with workshops containing activities to generate dialogue around the topics presented and is a proposal for communities and their organizations to have tools for self-training.

The printed version of the booklet is distributed to the participants of the Radio Seminar and the electronic version will be hosted in the community organization section of www.juspaxpanama.org and will have a QR code for socialization, developed by Boxcomm.

In the Community Organizing section will be published the different contents developed for the project, documentaries, radio programs, flyers, videos, etc, with the objective of offering tools for training.

Communication Campaign - Organizatlon

This campaign carried out by Trigger Minds had two important components. Through the social networks of the Justice and Peace Commission, participation in the weekly programs of the Seminar for Community Organization on Radio Hogar was promoted and simultaneously the Organizatlon campaign was generated, a call to action for community leaders to be trained to have an impact on their communities.  The contents of the campaigns were testimonies of community leaders and graphic documentation of the training process carried out by the Justice and Peace Commission for community organizations at the national level.
