Internationale Fachkonferenz der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Brüssel

Zum Auftakt der internationalen Fachkonferenz „Europäische und globale Ordnungspolitik nach der Finanzmarktkrise“ am 8. Februar im Cercle Royal Gaulois betonten die Vortragenden die Notwendigkeit verstärkter wirtschaftspolitischer Koordination in der EU. Der lettische Ministerpräsident Valdis Dombrovskis bemerkte in seinem Impulsvortrag „Für eine internationale wertegeleitete Wirtschaftsordnung – Leitlinien für Wohlstand, soziale Gerechtigkeit und nachhaltiges Wirtschaften“, dass gemeinsame ordnungspolitische Werte die Basis für wirtschaftspolitisches Handeln sein müssten.

Erlebnisraum Europa

Nach der erfolgreichen Präsentation des Lehrerhandbuches zur europapolitischen Bildung "Erlebnisraum Europa" in lettischer, estnischer und russischer Sprache im August 2010 tritt das Projekt in seine Implementierungsphase ein: In Zusammenarbeit mit dem lettischen Projektpartner, der Fakultät für Pädagogik und Psychologie der Universität Lettlands, und den info.direct-Punkten der Europäischen Kommission in Lettland führt die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung von Dezember 2010 bis Mai 2011 elf Fortbildungsseminar für Lehrer durch, um den effiziente Gebrauch des Handbuches zu erfahren.

Konferenzbericht des Arbeitskreis Junger Außenpolitiker

Der Arbeitskreis Junger Außenpolitiker wurde 2001 von der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung ins Leben gerufen, um jüngere außenpolitisch interessierte und versierte Persönlichkeiten zusammenzuführen. Er bietet ihnen ein Forum zur Diskussion anstehender außenpolitischer Herausforderungen und zur Erarbeitung von Lösungsvorschlägen. Regelmäßig führt dieser Kreis in Zusammenarbeit mit wechselnden Auslandsbüros der KAS Konferenzen zu Fragen Internationaler Politik und deutscher Außenpolitik durch. Die Konferenz 2010 in Riga analysierte die Strategien und Interessen Lettlands und Deutschlands im Ostseeraum.

In attendance of the Latvian Minister of Education and Science, Professor Tatjana Koķe, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the University of Latvia have presented the teacher’s handbook “Adventure Sphere Europe” to the public on August 12/13 in Riga and Tallinn.

TRENDS AND PERSPECTIVES IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICY

Assessments of the recent EU–Russia summit 2009 in Stockholm differ. Most experts see it as a new beginning for the EU–Russia relations – not so much because of the substantial progress achieved in some areas, but because is signalled a change towards a constructive mood in the relationship. While until recently, the parties lacked mutually acceptable positions on important issues, they now seem ready to work on important initiatives. The Summit showed that the EU has decided in favour of inclusion instead of sanctioning Russia. In return, Russia is abandoning its self-isolationist policies.

Adventure Sphere Europe

The project “Adventure Sphere Europe”, launched in October 2009, enters the second phase. Twenty experts of teachingmethodology and European issues from Latvia, Estonia and Germany joined the project in order to develop a training handbook on European civic education for high-school teachers and civic education trainers in Latvia and Estonia.

The Baltic Agenda 2010

In December 2009, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the policy centre EuroCivitas, with the support of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, held an expert workshop on the state of EU-Russia relations titled "The Baltic Agenda 2010". The participants were asked to assess the agenda and challenges for the EU-Russia relations in 2010 and to address the main topics from the perspective of the Baltic region. The summary reflects the ideas and view expressed during the workshop under the Chatham House rule.

Lettische Bildungsministerin eröffnet das Projekt „Erlebnisraum Europa"

Am 2. Oktober 2009 eröffneten die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, die Fakultät für Pädagogik und Psychologie der Universität Lettlands und das estnische Jaan Tönissoni Institut mit einer Konferenz offiziell das von der EU finanzierte Projekt „Erlebnisraum Europa". Die lettische Bildungsministerin Professor Tatjana Koķe und der estnische stellvertretende Generalsekretär für allgemeine Bildung und Fachbildung Herr Kalle Küttis begrüßten die Initiative und betonten die Bedeutung poltischer Bildung zum Thema Europa besonders für die jüngere Generation.
