Apart from being the secretariat of the National Economic Council, this department also provides secretarial services for the Joint Planning Board (JPB) and the National Council on Development Planning (NCDP). In order to strengthen the capacity of the staff and the department in general, policy experts, and consultants will be brought to offer their expert views, opinions and recommendations on ways the secretariat can improve on its services in line with global best practices. Amongst topics to be covered are Public Policies in Nigeria: Formulation, Implementation and Review; Monitoring and Evaluating the Implementation of Public Policies; Strategic Communication of Public Policies; The Role of Emotional Intelligence in Decision Making Process; A Review of Nigeria’s Economic Policies from 2015-2021: Recommendations for National Economic Council; Development Planning Process; The Role of Performance Management System in the Civil Service; and Data in Report Writing. The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to democracy, rule of law and good governance in Nigeria.
