The German Federal Minister of Finance Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble as well as 400 guests and numerous media representatives attended the jointly organized Chamber meeting of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the German Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai on the topic of economic and fiscal challenges in 2016.

Wenige Tage nach der regen Debatte zum Thema „Gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen in der Volksrepublik China“ trafen sich am Dienstag, den 23.02.2016, die Teilnehmer des Seminars der Bundesakademie für Sicherheitspolitik (BAKS) zum Thema „China als globale Gestaltungsmacht und asiatisch-pazifischer Ordnungsfaktor“ im Büro der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Peking. Ziel der Reflexionsrunde war die Evaluierung der gemeinsamen Veranstaltung mit der KAS sowie des neuntägigen Lehrganges im Allgemeinen.

Führungskräfteseminar der BAKS in Peking

Als Teil des mehrtägigen Seminars „China als globale Gestaltungsmacht und asiatisch-pazifischer Ordnungsfaktor“ der Bundesakademie für Sicherheitspolitik (BAKS) machte am Sonntag, den 21.02.2016, eine hochrangige Gruppe von Vertretern aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Militär und Zivilgesellschaft Station in Peking. Auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) diskutierten die 25 Seminarteilnehmer, deutsche Korrespondenten sowie die Leiter der deutschen politischen Stiftungen in Peking gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen in der Volksrepublik China.

10th party dialogue between the Communist Party of China and the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag

Following an invitation by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, members of the German Federal Parliament Manfred Grund, Axel Knörig, Thorsten Frei and Tankred Schipanski visited China from 01-05 February in order to implement the 10th party dialogue between the Communist Party of China and the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. The five-day program was divided into two key subjects and took place in Beijing and Guangdong Province.

The increasing demand for water, accelerated by rapid urbanization and industry has to be tackled by implementing mechanisms that ensure the efficient use and conservation of water. Especially the Northern regions in China are affected by water scarcity and are struggling with the impact of exploiting ground water resources.

Changes in Europe’s socio-economic development model in the wake of the financial crisis

On 30 November 2015, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC organized a one-day seminar on the topic of ‘changes in Europe’s socio-economic development model in the wake of the financial crisis’. Chinese and German economics experts, researchers and officials analysed the history of Europe’s socio-economic development as well as the impact of the recent recession on the future of the social market economy.

The KAS Shanghai hosted in cooperation with Tongji-University, the Center for Global Studies (CGS) of the University of Bonn and the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA) the third Chinese-German Forum on November 15th, 2015.
