From scientific research to practice

The School of Technology (Agadir), in partnership with KAS-REMENA, organized the first seminar "from scientific research to practice" which brought together doctoral students and their advisors to create synergies between the efforts made in research laboratories and the major environmental and climatic problems suffered by the region of Souss-Massa. 

The inaugural conference was attended by several representatives of the development actors of the city of Agadir: regional council, parliamentary deputy, private sector lobby and university management. The speakers stressed the importance of the convergence of territorial policies and called on the academic body to play a central role in the efforts to adapt to climate change. 

Participants also had the opportunity to discover the steps necessary to patent and valorize their research work through a presentation provided by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property. Through an exchange with entrepreneurs, the PhD students discovered examples of practical applications of environmental solutions experimented on a local scale in different regions of Morocco. The last part of the training was devoted to the presentation of national strategies in terms of climate change and energy security in order to focus research on national priorities.
