A PARTNERSHIP FOR A COMMON INTEREST
The SIPODI West Program of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, committed to addressing security concerns in the context of modern arms manufacturing in Africa, has renewed its support for the Armed Forces Academy (AFA) of Côte d'Ivoire.
This support from the Security Policy Dialogue in West Africa (SIPODI West) program aims to assist the State of Côte d'Ivoire in its ambition to build and professionalize its army.
Thus, in 2025, the Master's Degree in Defense and Security Governance is enrolling students from more than a dozen countries across Africa (from north to south, east to west) in the Higher Defense Studies Course (CESD) at the Armed Forces Academy (AFA) in Zambakro (Yamoussoukro).
Beyond the Master's degree, this strategic cooperation between the SIPODI West Program and the AFA is a step towards the improvement of African armies.
CESD Master's degree in support of the training of the Staff College (CEM)
The program is positioned as a major partner of the Ivorian army.
In addition to the Master's degree in Governance, Security and Defense, which is dedicated to officers from the CESD, the program provides financial support for the organization of various CESD seminars, as well as those organized by the CEM and the War College.
AFA 2025 SEMINAR
To reaffirm its support, the SIPODI West Program was present alongside CEM officials and students during the traditional AFA seminar on May 21 and 22.
During this seminar, the theme of information management was addressed by several civilian and military experts, including practitioners in the field. Together with all the participants, the delegation was able to gauge the academic growth of this prestigious military institution.
This topic was of particular interest to the armed forces, given the role of the military in Africa.
For this academic year, several officers from more than a dozen countries are vying for the coveted qualification.
