The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Türkiye organized a dialogue program for the associations CDU Berlin (Junge Union, Frauen Union and Senioren-Union) on political exchange from 30.10. to 03.11. in Istanbul and Ankara.

As part of the dialogue program on German-Turkish relations, the representatives of CDU Berlin first met with German journalists in Istanbul and exchanged views on important issues such as parliamentary and presidential elections in Türkiye, economic challenges and energy crisis.

During the meeting at the German Consulate General, political relations as well as cultural relations between the two countries were exchanged. Economic relations and energy issues, which are of great importance for both countries, were discussed with TÜRKONFED (Association of Turkish Entrepreneurs and Industrialists). 

The delegation visited the company FarHym Automotive in Ankara, which a part of the German entrepreneurial family Hymer. During the factory visit, delegation visited the production of parts for coaches and buses and got an insight into the circumstances of employers in Türkiye and current issues related to investment and foreign exchange in business.

During the meeting at the German Embassy, the delegation was informed about diplomatic relations between the two countries as well as about education and migration issues. During the joint dinner with former KAS scholarship holders, cultural and academic relations as well as youth issues were discussed.

Highlight for the delegation was the visit of the Atatürk Mausoleum, which is a symbol and place of reflection for the Turkish state, its founder and founding philosophy of the Turkish Republic.

An important meeting for the Women's Union of the CDU was the meeting with the vice chairwoman of the Women's Organization of the AK Party, where the women's organizations of the two parties, the women's issues in the two countries and the work on this issue were discussed.  At the end of the program, a general evaluation of the meetings was conducted.
