Between the 23rd and 27th of April, 2017 after the constitutional referendum, the Executive Board of Youth Branch of Lower Saxony paid a visit to Turkey, which was organized by the Turkey Office of KAS. The youth branch delegation met with German and Turkish counter parts from politics, media and academy to get information on the political, economic and social situation in Turkey.

Besides the current political issues of German-Turkish relations, issues like refugee crisis, past constitutional referendum, and the social and political participation of youth were also discussed during the visit. In this context, discussions with the youth branch of AK Party and students of the Middle East Technical University (METU), took place. Thanks to the vibrant exchange of views with the different counter parts in Istanbul and Ankara, the dialogue and mutual understanding between the German and Turkish youth were promoted.
